Omar Oreste Corbatta (1936-1991) is a former Argentine football striker. He was born on March 11 1936, in the city of La Plata in the Buenos Aires Province of Argentina. He won four League titles with Racing Club and Boca Juniors and represented the Argentina national football team on 43 occasions.
Club career
Omar Corbatta started his career in 1955 with Racing Club, he helped them to claim the 1958 and 1961 league titles.
In 1963 Corbatta joined Boca Juniors where he played in the 1963 Copa Libertadores final defeat to Santos FC. Corbatta helped Boca to win the 1964 and 1965 Primera Division titles.
In 1965 Corbatta joined Colombian side Independiente Medellin where he played until 1968.
Corbatta later had spells with lower league teams San Telmo, Italia Unidos and Tiro Federal in Argentina.
Club Titles
International career
Corbatta played a total of 43 games for Argentina, in which he scored 18 goals putting him in equal 13th place on the Argentina top scorers list with Domingo Tarasconi.
Corbatta was part of the Copa America winning team in 1957 and again in 1959. He also played in the 1958 FIFA World Cup where Argentina were eliminated despite his contribution of 3 goals in 3 games.

Corbatta died in 1991 and in 2006 to mark the 15th anniversary of his death he was inaugurated into the Racing Club hall of fame and a bronze statue by Daniel Zimermann was unveiled.
