Wilfredo Caballero

Wilfredo Daniel Caballero is an Argentine footballer who currently plays for Elche CF in the Spanish second division, as a goalkeeper.

Caballero started his playing career with Boca Juniors in 2001, where he won three major titles in 2003. On December 14 of that year, he witnessed - in the bench - his team beat A.C. Milan 31 on penalties, in the Intercontinental Cup.

Caballero played for Argentina at under-20 level, helping the nation win the 2001 FIFA World Youth Championship. In 2004, he was also picked for the gold medal triumph at the 2004 Summer Olympics, where he incidentally backed-up German Lux, who had been his understudy in the first competition.
