Gonzalo Ruben Bergessio is an Argentine football striker. He was born on July 20 1984, in the city of Cordoba in Argentina. He currently plays for San Lorenzo of the Argentine Primera.
Bergessio started his career in the lower leagues with Club Atletico Platense between 2001 and 2005.
In 2005 Bergessio was signed by Instituto Atletico Central Cordoba of the Primera Division, but at the end of the 2005-2006 season Instituto were relegated and Bergessio was sold to Racing Club. During the Apertura 2006 Bergessio chipped in with a useful six goals, and in the Clausura 2007 he has maintained his ability to score goals on a fairly regular basis. His fast pace earned him a big following at the Estadio Juan Domingo Peron and he became a fan favourite after scoring the game winner against giants Boca Juniors, adding another winner against River Plate.
