Amadeo Carrizo

Amadeo Raul Carrizo is a former football goalkeeper, born on June 12 1926 in Rufino in the Santa Fe Province of Argentina. His nickname was 'Tarzan'. Carrizo was a pioneer, helping to innovate techniques and strategies for goalkeepers.

He was the first goalkeeper to wear gloves, the first one to leave the penalty box to defend his goal and the first one to use goal kicks as a strategy to start counter attack plays.
