Carlos Babington (born September 20 1949) is a former Argentine football striker. He represented the Argentine national team at the 1974 World Cup.
Babington, born in the Capital Federal district of Buenos Aires, started his career at Club Atletico Huracan in 1969, he was part of the team that won the Metropolitano 1973 championship.
In 1974, he was transferred to German team SG Wattenscheid 09, though he had also considered an offer from Stoke City due to his English ancestry.
Babington returned to Huracan in 1979 and played for the club until 1982, when he moved to Florida, United States to cash in at the Tampa Bay Rowdies. He retired from football later that year.
Babington scored 126 goals for Huracan in his 8 years with the club, he later went on to manage the team between 1988 and 1991, and he became president of Club Atletico Huracan in 2005.
