Franco Matias di Santo is an Argentine professional football player who plays as a striker for the reserve team of Chelsea FC. A transfer from Audax Italiano to Chelsea F.C. was confirmed on January 25, 2008 when he signed a 4 and a half year deal. He has been seen wearing the training number 27 but his official squad number has yet to be confirmed as Israeli striker Ben Sahar currently wears the 27 for Chelsea. Di Santo spoke of his excitement at having joined Chelsea and his eagerness to prove himself. The club's official site confirmed that he has joined the reserve squad and so ideas that he would immediately be in contention for a first team place appear to have been misfounded.

Di Santo scored on his Chelsea debut on 11 February, 2008, Getting a late equalizer in a 2-2 draw with Fulham Reserves. He wore the number '9' shirt during the game. Di Santo scored his second goal in as many appearances for the reserves team, against Reading on 3rd March, 2008.
