He currently plays as a forward for Club Universidad Nacional, a Mexico City team commonly known as the Pumas. He joined the Pumas for this season on a loan from Club Necaxa,
Lopez had previously played for Club Atletico Lanus Club Atletico Quilmes and San Lorenzo in his native country.
