Lisandro Lopez (born 2 March 1983) is an Argentine footballer from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Lisandro was born in the Rafael Obligado district of Buenos Aires. He currently plays for FC Porto. He has played for the Argentina national football team.
National Team
Lopez is an Argentinian international. He is predominantly a substituite but was still a key part of the team during qualifying for the World Cup in Germany.
Clubs
Lopez started his career at Racing Club of Argentina in the Argentine Primera. He was the league's top scorer in the Apertura tournament of 2004. This goalscoring prowess provoked the interest of several European teams including Charlton Athletic and FC Porto.
Lopez eventually made the switch to Porto for a transfer fee of 2.5 million euros. He has quickly become a key player for Porto, scoring vital goals for the team, including the first goal in the UEFA Champion's League against Rangers FC in 2005/06 and two goals in the home game against Hamburg in Champions League 2006/07.

Lopez was nervous about playing for FC Porto as he once said at the signing: "I am now playing in one of Europe's power houses and top club". He was part of the 2005-06 Portuguese national champions.
