Edelmiro Julian Farrell

General Edelmiro Julian Farrell was an Argentine soldier, who was de facto president of Argentina between 1944 and 1946.

Farrell finished military school in 1907 as infantry sub-lieutenant. He participated in an Italian alpine regiment between 1924 and 1926.

Back in Argentina, he became Minister of War, and vice-president during the military government of General Pedro P. Ramirez, who had withdrawn Arturo Rawson from the presidency. Ramirez named Farrell president on February 25 1944. On July 1945 Farrell announced presidential elections, in which military Juan Peron was elected.
