Domingo French was an Argentine revolutionary who took part in the May Revolution and the Argentine War of Independence.
During his childhood and early years, French spent his time between studies, commercial activities, and helping his father in his business. In 1802 French became the first mailman of Buenos Aires.
During the first English invasion, French organized, alongside Juan Martin de Pueyrredon, the corps of Husars. Due to his bravery, he was named lieutenant colonel by the viceroy Santiago de Liniers in 1808.
