Rafael Obligado (27 January 1851 - 8 March 1920) was an Argentine poet and playwright.
Obligado was the son of Luis Obligado y Saavedra and Maria Jacinta Ortiz Urien. During the 1880s, he became known as "el poeta del Parana" (the poet of Parana). He wrote poetry with gaucho themes, but using cultured and educated language. He was heavily influenced by contemporary French poetry.
Obligado's most famous poem is called Santos Vega.
