Estanislao del Campo was an Argentine poet. Born in Buenos Aires within a unitarian family, he fought in Cepeda and Pavon battles, defending Buenos Aires' rights. The unitarians were a political party favoring a strong central government, in opposition to the federalists.

Estanislao Del Campo is also the name of a small town in Formosa, Argentina which lies about 135 km from la ciudad de Formosa. Its total population is of 4,055 inhabitants according to the census of INDEC of 2001. Agriculture (mainly cotton) is its main economical contributor yet a large percentage of the town continues to suffer from sore cases of poverty.*
