Manuel Pellegrini

Manuel Pellegrini (born 16 September 1953 in Santiago de Chile) is a Chilean ex-footballer and current manager. As a footballer, he played most of his career for Universidad de Chile. As a coach, he has managed teams mostly in Argentina and Chile. He has been in charge of Spain's Villarreal CF since 1 July 2004, whom he led to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League 2005-06, losing to Arsenal F.C..

He is a qualified civil engineer.
