Rodrigo Patricio Ruiz de Barbieri , (also known as '''El Pony Ruiz''' because of his thighs looking like a ponies thigh), is a Mexican-Chilean football player, who played for Union Espanola, Toros Neza, Santos Laguna, CD Veracruz, and now plays for the Tecos UAG of the Primera Division de Mexico. He wears the number 11 jersey and is one of Tecos returning incorporations for the Apertura 2008.
During the qualifiers to the 1998 FIFA World Cup, Ruiz played a match with the Chilean national team against Uruguay at Centenario Stadium, that Chile lost 1-0.
Ruiz was one of the best players in the Chilean team Union Espanola. There, he played in the Copa Libertadores, where the team lost in quarterfinals against Sao Paulo.
