Cornelio Saavedra Rodriguez (Santiago 1823 7 April 1891) was a Chilean politician and military figure that played a major role in the Occupation of the Araucania.

He was the grandson of the Argentine general Cornelio Saavedra. At the age of 15 years he entered the Chilean Army and joined the revolts of 1851 and 1859. He took office as General Commander of the Chilean Navy in 1860, but left the charge that year. ...
