ISO 3166-2:AR

ISO 3166-2:AR is the entry in ISO 3166-2, part of the ISO 3166 standard published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), which defines codes for the names of the principal subdivisions of Argentina (whose ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code is AR).

Currently 1 federal district and 23 provinces are assigned codes. Each code starts with AR-, followed by a letter, which was originally used in the vehicle registration plates of Argentina (the letters I and O are not used since they could be mistaken as 1 and 0 respectively and were left out of license plates), and is currently used in the postal codes of Argentina.

Codes and subdivision names are listed as in the official standard published by the ISO 3166 Maintenance Agency (ISO 3166/MA). Click on the button in the header to sort each column.
