Jose Bernardo de Tagle

Jose Bernardo de Tagle, marques de Torre Tagle was a Peruvian soldier and politician, occupying the Peruvian presidency from 1823 to 1824.

Biography

He was a deputy in the Cadiz Cortes and resided in Spain between 1812 and 1817.

On his return to Peru he was named Governor of Trujillo, and proclaimed the independency of the city on the arrival of Jose de San Martin.
