Jose Bernardo de Tagle
Jose Bernardo de Tagle y Portocarrero, marquis de Torre Tagle and marquis of Trujillo was a Peruvian soldier and politician, occupying the Peruvian presidency from 1823 to 1824.
He was the son of Jose Manuel Tagle Isasaga third Marquis of Torre-Tagle and Maria Mercedes Zamudio y Portocarrero, both aristocratic Peruvians of Spanish ancestors.
On his return to Peru he was named Governor of Trujillo, and proclaimed the independency of the city on the arrival of Jose de San Martin.
