Guillermo Billinghurst Angulo
Guillermo Billinghurst Angulo was a Peruvian politician in the early 20th century. He was the mayor of Lima from 1909 to 1910 and appointed President of the Republic on Sept 1912. His term ended by a military coup on Feb 1914, President Billinghurst was sent to exile and died in Iquique the next year.
Billinghurst was a populist Mayor and when President his main goal was to settle the Tacna Arica dispute and with that goal in mind he signed the Billinghurst-La Torre protocol, which was not approved by the Chilean Congress.
