Sportivo Italiano
Club Sportivo Italiano are a football club who play in Ciudad Evita, La Matanza Partido, Buenos Aires, Argentina. They currently play in the regionalised third tier of the Argentine Football Association.
They were founded on 7 May 1955 by Italian immigrants in the Florida neighbourhood of the Vicente Lopez Partido in the Buenos Aires Province, next to Buenos Aires city. The club were originally named Associazione del Calcio Italiano in Argentina, in 1978 they merged with Sociedad Italiana and became known as Deportivo Italiano, the clubs third and latest name change occurred in 2000, when they became known as Club Sportivo Italiano.
The club have mainly appeared in the 2nd and third tiers of Argentine football, although in the 1986/87 they played their only season in the Argentine top flight. Despite finishing bottom of the league and being relegated, this was their highest league finish ever.
