Gisela Valcarcel
Gisela Valcarcel (born 26 January 1963 in Lima) is a popular Peruvian television host. She has hosted midday shows through the nineties in many television stations in Peru. Her shows were compared to those of Rafaella Carra in Italy, Susana Gimenez in Argentina and Veronica Castro in Mexico.
Gisela Varcarcel simultaneously turned on to host Saturday nighttime television shows for various years in the late nineties and early 2000 with great success, including reality shows of local versions of Big Brother named "La Casa de Gisela". In the meantime, she also entered a phase of spiritual search that took her to India, meeting some religious leaders, including Sabai Baba and in the U.S. Deepak Chopra. This changed her perspective, bringing a stage of peace to her life. In 2005 wrote the book "My Name is Gisela" where she tells her complete story, ups and downs and includes photos, with great success. In 2006 after 6 years of romance, she married Javier Carmona, whom with she has formed a family and are involved in television production as well as entrepreneur in beauty parlor franchise Amarige, in parallel to being a housewife and mother of various kids. She's currently a great sportsman, fan of marathons, forming a local group running various worldwide competitions. Her oldest daughter married and is currently pregnant, about to make her grandmother. Recently, she initiated a campaign to raise the quality of local Peruvian television.
