Haide Giri

Haide Delia Giri is an Argentine Justicialist Party politician, currently a senator for Cordoba Province.

Giri was born in General Pico, La Pampa Province. She qualified as a surgeon at the National University of Cordoba and this was convalidated by the University of Madrid. She also received a certificate in oncology from the National Cancer Institute of Brazil in Rio de Janeiro. She practised a doctor and surgeon in Cordoba.

Between 1974 and 1976, Giri worked as a junior official in the municipality of Cordoba city. In 1993 she was elected a provincial senator for the city and led the Independent bloc in the provincial Senate from 1996. In 1997 she left the senate and in 1999 she joined the provincial government in the health ministry. In 2001 she became provincial health minister before switching to the same position in the Cordoba city government later the same year. In 2002 she returned to be health minister at the provincial level. In July 2002 she became secretary general of the provincial government, until 2003.
