Paijan

Paijan has been for many years the most important archaeological complex of the north coast of Peru because of its influence and territorial extension. Located principally between the vales of Viru and Pacasmayo, Paijan influenced with its skill litica up to Piura for the north and Ica for the south, it is to this influence what is named a tradition paijense. The archaeological complex consists of camps outdoors, quarries and workshops. It is still not accurately known to which chronological status Paijan belongs.
