Jose Guillermo Del Solar Alvarez Calderon, Del Solar is a retired football midfield player from Peru, who obtained 74 international caps for his national team, in which he scored nine goals. He made his debut on January 28, 1986 against China (1-3), playing his last international match for his native country on November 8, 2001 against Argentina (0-2), twenty days before his 34th birthday. Del Solar was nicknamed "Chemo" during his playing career.

As a manager, he began his career with Colon de Santa Fe, aided by Juan Antonio Pizzi, without luck. Then, he was named coach of Sporting Cristal and won the Primera Division Peruana in 2005. Afterwards, Del Solar was named coach of Universidad Catolica of Chile, finishing second behind Colo Colo in Apertura 2007.
