Alberto Junior Rodriguez Valdelomar
Alberto Junior Rodriguez Valdelomar, otherwise known as Rodriguez , is a Peruvian international footballer currently with Sporting de Braga in the Superliga. His former club prior to his arrival in Europe was Sporting Cristal.
Prior to joining Braga he had offers from Bayern Munich and Deportivo La Coruna but opted to play in the Superliga because his idol Teofilo Cubillas played in Portugal, with FC Porto.
On December 28, 2006 he signed a four year deal with the northern club, and on February 18, 2007, played his first Superliga match for Braga against U.D. Leiria.
Rodriguez started representing Peru during the qualifiers for the 2006 World Cup, and quickly became a defensive cornerstone. He represented the nation in Copa America 2007.
