ISO 3166-2:EC

ISO 3166-2:EC is the entry in ISO 3166-2, part of the ISO 3166 standard published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), which defines codes for the names of the principal subdivisions of Ecuador (whose ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code is EC).

Currently 22 provinces are assigned codes. Each code starts with EC-, followed by a letter, which is currently used in the vehicle registration plates of Ecuador.
