Manuel Seoane was an Argentine football striker who played for Independiente and Argentina. He was the highest goalscorer in the Amateur era of Argentine football with 196 goals. He went on to become the manager of the Argentina national team in the 1930s.
Seoane made his first team debut for Independiente on March 6 1921 in a game against San Lorenzo. He went on to score 241 goals for the club in 264 appearances. He finished as the top scorer in Argentine football on three occasions during the amateur era of Argentine football. During his time with the club Independiente won several titles including the Argentine championships of 1922 and 1926.
