Maria Florencia Bertotti Baleiron is a famous Argentine actress, singer and producer who began her career at age 12.
But her big break came when she was chosen for the role of Valeria Marquesi on Pol-ka's production Son amores. The show became a huge success and the most-watched television program in the country and Florencia's character became enormously popular. Due to her role, she won two Martin Fierro Awards for Best Comedy Actress, in 2002 and 2003, and a Clarin Award for the Best Actress in Comedy in 2003. Son amores lasted two seasons and was the most watched TV show in Argentina both in 2002 and in 2003.
In 2004, renowned producer Cris Morena chose Florencia to star in her new children-oriented telenovela Floricienta. The show soon became a smash hit achieving record ratings in its afternoon slot, moving over 400 licensed products and attracting over 600,000 people for its series of live concerts in Buenos Aires during its two season.
