Industrial University of Santander
The Industrial University of Santander (UIS) (Industrial University of Santander) is the most important university in Eastern Colombia, the fourth public Colombian university and one of the main research institutions in the country. It has 12,000 students for 28 undergraduate programmes. It was created in 1940 and started activities in March 1, 1948. Its based in Bucaramanga. The UIS has two radio stations and one television production company.
Jaime Alberto Camacho Pico is the UIS current rector.

Faculties
Nowadays the university has five faculties.
