Jiri Pelikan (23 April 1906 1984) was a CzechArgentine chess master.
In 1935, Jiri Pelikan tied for 2nd-4th in Luhacovice (Karel Opocensky won). In 1935, he won in Prague (12th Kautsky memorial). In 1936, he tied for 7-8th in Podebrady (Salo Flohr won). In 1936, he tied for 6-7th in Novi Sad (Vasja Pirc won). In 1936, he won in Prague (13th Kautsky memorial). In 1937, he took 5th in Bad Elster (Ludwig Rellstab and Efim Bogoljubow won). In 1937, he took 8th in Prague (Paul Keres won).
Following the outbreak of the World War II Pelikan, along with many other participants of the 8th Olympiad had decided to stay permanently in Argentina.
