Early life
Ramirez was born Edgar Ramirez Arellanos in San Cristobal, Venezuela, the son of a military attache. Due to his father's career, he moved around frequently and as a result can speak fluent French, Spanish, German, English and Italian. He graduated with a degree in journalism, specializing in political communications and initially intended on becoming a diplomat. He lived for 2 years in Barinas, a small town located in the southwest of Venezuela. He has made his home in such diverse countries as Austria, Canada, Colombia, Italy and Mexico.
