Edwin Congo
Edwin Arturo Congo Murillo is a Colombian footballer who currently plays with CD Olimpic de Xativa, in Spain's Regional Preferente (fifth level).
After impressive performances with Once Caldas, Congo was snapped by La Liga giants Real Madrid in 1999. However, he would not register one single league appearance for the capital side during his stay there (in 200102), while also serving loans to Real Valladolid, Vitoria Sport Clube and Toulouse FC.
In 200708, Congo had an uneventful stint with Recreativo de Huelva, being released at the end of the season. With the following season already started, he decided to join CD Olimpic de Xativa (in the Regional Preferente Group 3 , as he was residing in the area, while also trying to keep himself fit while waiting for an offer from a mid-to-high level team in Europe. He netted thrice in his first two matches. Edwin Congo shines...in Regional Preferente; Diario Marca, December 15, 2008
