Pedro Rubiano Saenz
Pedro Rubiano Saenz is a Cardinal and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Bogota in the Roman Catholic Church.
Born in Cartago, Colombia, Rubiano Saenz studied at the seminary in Popayan before his being ordained as a priest on 8 July 1956.
Pope John Paul II proclaimed Rubiano Saenz Cardinal-Priest of Trasfigurazione di Nostro Signore Gesu Cristo in the consistory of February 21, 2001. In 2002, he was elected president of the Colombian Episcopal Conference, and he was one of the cardinal electors who participated in the 2005 papal conclave that elected Pope Benedict XVI.
