Club Champagnat

Club Champagnat is a rugby union club from Buenos Aires, Argentina currently playing in the Argentine first division.

Its was founded on November 30, 1956 by the Colegio Champagnat school, though they already participated in 1954 of rugby junior tournaments organized by the Union Argentina de Rugby. In 1958 the club won the third division tournament and ascended to second division, where it played until 1970. Due to a restructure of the leagues, Champagnat started the 1971 season in first division, but the club was relegated to second division in 1981, promoted to first in 1983, and then back to second in 1984. In 1993 the team won again the second division tournament, and since then has never left the first division.

The Champagnat school was founded in 1914 by the Marist Brothers. Besides the rugby team, the club supports several other ativities including polo, football and field hockey.
