The Dancer Upstairs
The Dancer Upstairs is a 1995 novel by Nicholas Shakespeare. It is based on Peru's Maoist insurgency of the 1980s. It is the story of a police Lieutenant, later promoted to Captain, hunting a terrorist leader based on Abimael Guzman, leader of Shining Path. In 2002 it was adapted to film under the same title.
