Franklin Salas


Franklin Agustin Salas Narvaez is an Ecuadorian football striker currently playing for LDU Quito in the Ecuadorian Serie A.

He was a regular member of the national team, but was not called up to the 2006 FIFA World Cup squad due to a serious knee injury which required surgery. He scored the winning goal against Colombia in World Cup Preliminaries, 2 June 2004. He was also a call-up for U-20 team at 2001 FIFA World Youth Championship and made three substitutes appearances. He is also considered to be one of the best players of the last decade from Ecuador. Salas is known for the great impact he made in games against Colombia, Brazil, Bolivia, and Paraguay in the World Cup Qualifiers 2006. Franklin was also voted as one of the 3 best players of Copa America 2004 along with Robinho and Carlos Tevez. To many, he is the most loved player in Liga de Quito, club in which he currently plays in but hasn't been able to succeed because of various injuries. He has,however,been linked with a transfer to Scottish champions Rangers F.C. He is worth buying on Championship Manager 2006 along with Alvaro Chacon Saborio.
