Chorrera is a name of a pre-Columbian archaeological culture located in the lower course of the Guayas River (Ecuador) between 1800 BC and 300 BC.
This culture exerted essential influence on a great part of Ecuadors territory reaching the Amazon region. Its subsistence was based on agriculture and gathering of shellfish, e.g. Spondylus.
