Tampa Cargo

Transportes Aereos Mercantiles Panamericanos S.A., operating as Tampa Cargo, is a cargo airline based at Jose Maria Cordova International Airport in Medellin, Colombia. It is a specialized all-cargo airline transporting flowers from Latin America to Miami, as well as general cargo throughout the Americas. It has hubs at El Dorado International Airport (BOG), Bogota, Jose Maria Cordova International Airport (MDE), Medellin, Ernesto Cortissoz International Airport (BAQ), Barranquilla and Miami International Airport (MIA).


The airline was established by Luis H. Coulson along with Orlando Botero Escobar and started operations on 11 March 1973. Martinair of the Netherlands acquired a 50% stake in Tampa Cargo in 1996. Avianca of the Colombia acquired a 100% stake in Tampa Cargo in 2008


Tampa Cargo operates the following services at (April 2007):

Domestic scheduled destinations: Bogota, Medellin, Barranquilla, Cali.

International scheduled destinations: Mexico City, Miami, San Juan, Lima, Quito,Guayaquil,Caracas,Valencia, Venezuela, Panama City, Panama, San Jose, Costa Rica, Santo Domingo, Santiago de Chile, Viracopos and Manaus.
