Munchique National Park
Parque Nacional de Munchique (Munchique National Park) is a national park in Colombia, 440 square kilometres in size. The Park is located west of the city of Popayan, in jurisdiction of El Tambo, on the western slope of the Western Cordillera of the Colombian Andes. The park contains numerous mountains, including Munchique mountain, 3012 metres high. Several tributaries of the San Juan del Micay river flow through the park. The Munchique Wood-wren, new to science in 2003, is named after the area.
