Carlos Paita
Carlos Paita , is an Argentine conductor.
At a young age Paita attended rehearsals by Wilhelm Furtwangler at the Teatro Colon. Later he studied conducting with Artur Rodzinski. He started his professional career at the Colon Theater before moving to Europe in 1968.
He is noted for some wild and exciting recordings issued on his own Lodia label. As of 2006, the label is out of business and his recordings are highly sought-after collectors' items. His 1978 recording of Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique with the London Symphony Orchestra was awarded the Grand Prix du Disque.
