The 1959 FIBA World Championship was an international basketball competition hosted by Chile from January 16 to 31, 1959. Amaury Antonio Pasos was named the MVP.

During the 1959 FIBA World Championship in Chile, Juan "Pachin" Vicens was declared to be the Best Player of the World while NBA legends like Oscar Robertson , Amaury Pasos and Jerry West also played in that tournament.
