Venice Beach – Los Angeles
Los Angeles is world-famous for its incredible coastline and beaches. One such beach is Venice Beach. This west-facing beach is not just a beach, but also crammed with hives of activity along the promenade area. The weather in Los Angeles is fantastic for most of the year and the summer months can be quite hot.
Public transport is a good option as a tourist as finding a free parking space – even in the off season – boils down to sheer luck. Visitors can spend an entire day at the beach and do not have to worry about bringing much along. (for hotels near Venice Beach, use Los Angeles Hotels) The shops along the promenade sell everything from refreshments to sunscreen and there are even beach towels and umbrellas for hire.
Venice Beach is a great place for families, with volleyball tournaments running throughout the day and fishing from the pier being a favorite of the locals. Fishing rods and tackle can also be hired.
The sunsets from Venice Beach are breathtaking, followed by an evening at one of the many restaurants. A change of clothing is advisable before venturing into the restaurants, but there are restrooms and showers available for this very purpose.
