Peru at the Olympics
Peru made its first official appearance at the Olympic Games at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin. However, some sources consider Carlos de Candamo, a fencer who competed in the foil and epee events in the 1900 Summer Olympics, of Peruvian nationality, and therefore, Peru's first Olympic competitor. Since 1936, the nation has participated in all but one edition of the Summer Olympic Games (missing only the 1952 Games) but have never attended any Winter Olympic Games.
Peruvian athletes have won a total of four medals, three in shooting and one in women's volleyball.
The National Olympic Committee for Peru was created in 1924 and recognized by the International Olympic Committee in 1936.
