Boliviana de Aviacion

Boliviana de Aviacion (BoA) is a planned airline in Bolivia. It is being established by the Bolivian government under Evo Morales, replacing the troubled Lloyd Aereo Boliviano as flag carrier.

The airline will be headquartered in Cochabamba. Details of the airline's proposed fleet have not been released. It is intended that the airline begin flights in the first quarter of 2008, initially flying domestic routes and expanding to international destinations after eight months. The government says that it aims to "democratize air transport in Bolivia" through the airline, although also says that it will operate under commercial conditions and without subsidies. The company's General Manager will hold office for a five year term, and will be appointed by the President of Bolivia.
