Ancient drawings on Chilean Plains

I once read a book that has photos of drawings, etc that were laid out over a large plain in Chile and they were only visable from the air. The suggestion by the author was that these had been done as signposts for aliens landing from space. Can you please advise me where these are located and if it exists, a website I may visit to gain more knowledge of these drawings, etc
