The city of Jaen, is located in the northern part of the Department of Cajamarca in northeastern Peru. At an altitude of 740 meters above sea level it is considered part of the central Sierra region of Peru. It has a warm and humid climate. Temperatures fluctuate between 15 and 33 degrees Celsius. Rice is the main crop grown in the area.
