Tetete people
The Tetete were an indigenous ethnic group in the Ecuadorian Amazon or Oriente. Their homeland was to the north and west of the Siona people and the Secoya people, whose language is closely related to their Tetete language. It became the site of oil boom town Lago Agrio. The Tetete, like other indigenous people, experienced disease and loss of land due to the unethical and unlawful oil drilling practices by Chevron. Unlike most others, they did not survive.
