Jimena Romero is a professional scriptwriter, one of two daughters of Colombian media idol Bernardo Romero and acting legend Judi Henriquez. She married musician and producer Julio Reyes in 1993.

As a child, Jimena often went with her father off-screen. She learned the camera control, and how to write screenplays, from these constant visits.
