Diego Jacinto Agustin Barros Arana educator, diplomat and Chilean historian. He is considered the most important Chilean historian of the 19th century and his most famous work is the Historia General de Chile (General History of Chile).
He was also Director of the Instituto Nacional public high school and of the University of Chile.
