Foreign relations of Chile Forum
Chile was the first country which recognized Turkey in Latin America with the Friendship Treaty, in 1926. In Santiago, there are Turkish Republic Square, Ataturk College and Ataturk bust. Turkish embassy in Chile is the first embassy of Turkey opened in Latin America. In addition, in Turkey, there are Chile Square, Bernardo O'Higgins Monument, Chile Republic Elementary School which were built to develop the friendship between two countries.
