History

In 1924, Amos Pagani (Italian immigrant) arrives to Arroyito (Cordoba). He started a bakery, an occupation that he had exercised in his native Italy.

In 1928, the second of his five children was born, Fulvio Salvador, who, years later, built a factory of candies, together with others: the siblings Fulvio, Renzo and Elio Pagani; the siblings Modesto, Pablo and Vicente Maranzana; Mario Seveso and Enrique Brizio.

Their declared plan was: "an important production volume, with the purpose of reducing costs."

In 1951 the plant is inaugurated. And the production begins.

In 1958, Arcor had already reached the daily production of 60,000 kg of sweets. At this point, Arcor wasn't a factory of candies, exclusively.

In 1964, the Group carried out its first sales outside Argentina and it began to participate in international events.

The first exports consisted on the sale of glucose-derivated products , and sweets .

In 1970, was celebrated the first International Convention of Snacks and Confectionery , in Cologne (Germany). Arcor Group had their own stand and its presence was uninterrupted ever since.

In Argentina, 1967, Arcor established its own system of official distributors.

And the industries exploded in the 1970s, in Argentina: Tucuman (1970), Mendoza (1972), Cordoba (1975), Buenos Aires (1975) and Entre Rios (1980).

Arcor then crossed the border: Paraguay (1976), Uruguay (1979), Brazil (1981), and Chile (1989).

In 1990 its marketing strategists decide to exploit products with more potential of fast commercialization: Bon-O-Bon (padded wafers) and Cofler (high quality chocolates).

That year, Fulbio Salvador died in an accident. In 1993 Luis Alejandro Pagani assumed the presidency of the Arcor Group, the elder of the founder's six children.

In 1995 Arcor builds in Peru an important plant, producing candies and in 1999 the most advanced chocolate factory of South America is erected in Brazil.
